BOLA GAME

based on the primitive weapon

also called Bolos (Spanish: “balls”; from boleadoras), South American Indian weapon, primarily used for hunting, consisting of stone balls, usually in a group of three, attached to long, slender ropes. In hunting rhea, guanaco, and other animals in open country, the bola is whirled like a sling, then thrown parallel to the ground to entwine the quarry's legs. Un-like the game where the Bola’s are thrown under-handed

THE GAME

Units are spaced approximately 20 to 25 feet apart

There are 3 golf ball sets ( bola’s ) per team

Throw the bola trying to wrap around one of the rungs

top rung= 3 points

middle= 2 points

lower= 1 point

Bola must hang on or wrap around horizontal rungs only ( not the vertical rungs )

Bola must not bounce off the ground for a score

Your opponent may knock off your BOLA canceling your score

score of team one minus score of team two = score for that round

(example) team one scores 5 points and team two scores 4 points Net score for team one is one point and team two is 0

The person who scored most in the last round will start the next round

Game: 21 points BUT you must score exactly 21 to win. (example ) you have 20 points and you score 3 points. You must subtract 3 from your score of 20 now giving you 17 points.

I can not possibly list all the ways people can hurt themselves but good common sense goes a long way. Keep target area clear of people or pets. Throw Bolas underhanded for more control.
